Love that you can see so far - Mt Hood is always majestic. Snakes on the trail are startling but they are one of my favorite critters. You know, we wore long hiking pants and I washed them in the shower with some soap right after we hiked, then dried them out on the picnic table. This has worked well for two hikes in a row...no poison oak rashes!<br /><br />We have a hiked a lot of the falls before, and many of them are a good long drive West of us.
